About The Bridge Pottery

Mary O'Gorman

Mary studied pottery at Harrow College of Art and Design, and then worked at the well known Aldermaston Pottery in England.

Under the guidance of Edgar Campden and Alan Caiger-Smith she learnt her brush work skills using the majolica technique.

Her work is derived from the decorative techniques used by the Aldermaston pottery, and is fused with bright Mediterranean colour, decoration and a healthy sense of fun.

Mark Campden

Mark grew up in Aldermaston village in England, across the road from the Aldermaston Pottery, where his father the renowned potter and artist, Edgar Campden worked. His mother Doreen Campden is also an accomplished sculptor and artist.

Mark took up pottery when he came to Ireland in 1990. Mark gets his inspiration from the natural world, and illustrates his pots with a variety of traditional and exotic animals and flowers. He uses tin-glaze majolica as his medium. He was a recipient of the Crafts Council of Ireland Award at the RDS National Crafts Competition in 2002
